Op. Dr. Hakan Öçsel was born in Karşıyaka, İzmir in 1973. He graduated from Bornova Anatolian High School and completed his medical training at Ege University Medical Faculty between 1991 and 1997. During his medical education, he successfully passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) steps. He then completed his residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Pamukkale University Medical Faculty between 1998 and 2004, earning the title of Operator Doctor.

​His graduation thesis, titled “The Comparison of Siğla Oil, 1% Silver Sulfadiazine and Hydrocolloid Wound Dressing on Wound Healing,” was selected for the 40th Congress of the European Society for Surgical Research in 2005 and was subsequently published as an original article in the American Journal of Experimental Surgery in 2012.

​Since 2010, Dr. Öçsel has been serving his patients in his private aesthetic surgery clinic in Istanbul. His clinic is officially approved as an International Health Tourism Center by the Turkish Ministry of Health. Surgical operations are performed in fully equipped, contracted hospitals.
